A phrasal verb is a group of words that act as a verb. 

It is made from a verb and a preposition, adverb or both.

What is a multiple choice cloze?
  • Multiple Choice Cloze activities are a key part of the Use of English section in the Cambridge Exam English Assessments.
  • You need to choose the best option of A-D. 
  • This is mainly a vocabulary based exercise; based on word patterns, phrasal verbs and fixed expressions.

Multiple-choice cloze strategies
  1. Read the title and the text quickly to get a general idea, without trying to fill the gaps.
  2. Read the text again. Stop at each gap and try to predict what the missing word or phrase might be.
  3. Look at the options for each gap, try putting each one in which fits best?
  4. Read the text again with your answers, does it make sense?

Grammar: Would & used to
Rule:
To talk about habits and repeated actions in the past, we can use: used todidn't  use  to and would(n't).

We don't use would to talk about a past state
Would is used to emphasize that the actions is typical of a person or a situation.

"I used to live in london when I was a little girl"
