China balloon: US searches in Atlantic for wreckage

US Navy divers are working to recover the wreckage of the Chinese surveillance balloon that was shot down off the coast of South Carolina.

America's former top military officer said he expected it would happen relatively quickly so that experts could begin analysing its equipment.

Fighter jets brought the craft down over US territorial waters on Saturday and debris is spread over a wide area.

The US believes the balloon was monitoring sensitive military sites.

Its discovery set off a diplomatic crisis, with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken immediately calling off this weekend's trip to China over the "irresponsible act".

The Chinese authorities denied it was used for spying and insisted it was a weather ship blown astray.

Adverbs - Bijwoorden- exceptions

examples -  already, almost, always, certainly, ever, never, just, obviously, often, probably, quite, still, usually

1You place them before the main verb (and after the first auxiliary verb if there are any).
He always sleeps on the job.

They have obviously been telling the truth.

Adverbs - exceptions

In sentences with a form of to be and in interrogative sentences you place these adverbs differently.

In sentences with one verb that is a form of to be: right after the verb.

We are really happy to see you.

In interrogative sentences: directly after the subject

Is she really going out with him?

Which clothes do you really want to wear?

Put the words in the right order

We gave a present to our friend at her birthday.

Darnell has eaten the hot dog just now.

Did you see that film in the cinema yesterday?

She doesn’t want to treat people differently.

These rules were designed for safety at work
