What is an adverb?

Adverbs

An adverb is a word that says something about a verb, an adjective,or another adverb. Adverbs are usually formed by adding -ly to the end of an adjective

Quickly says something about "ran" which is a verb.

Exceptions

We usually form adverbs by adding -ly or -ily to the adjective, but some adverbs are irregular:
