Present simple
Je gebruikt de Present simple in de tegenwoordige tijd. Dus als iets nu gebeurt. OF als iets in de toekomst gebeurt. 

De Present simple wordt toegepast wanneer er gesproken wordt over een feit, gewoonte, als iets nooit gebeurt, of als iets opeens gebeurt. 

VB: He plays football every week. 
VB: Suddenly the rope breaks.
VB: The train leaves the station.

Future: Present continuous
The present continuous can also be used to talk about something that is going to happen in the future. You are certain it will be going on for a longer time. 

VB: I'm flying to Cyprus next week.

Rule: To be + Verb + ing. 

When you make a negative sentence make sure to use not in the sentence.

VB: Next year we are not moving to Spain.

Future: Going to
Je gebruikt to be going to + hele werkwoord als:
- iemand een voorspelling doet en er bewijs is.
- iemand iets van plan is / een beslissing maakt en dat al vaststaat / eerder is afgesproken.

- Frits: "Patrick told me you're going on holiday."
- Marly: "Yes, we are going to invite our dearest friends to come with us."
--> Het is al eerder afgesproken --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

- He read that the weather is going to be great next week.
- Look at the dissappearing clouds. It is going to be sunny any moment now.
--> Er is wel bewijs (hij las het / ziet het gebeuren) --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

Will and Shall
For any other sentences in the future tense you can use Will or Shall. 
Shall is always used when asking a question for the future. (We, I)
BUT you can use will when asking a question about the future. (You, He, She, It, They)

Will + base verb.
Shall + base verb.

VB: Don’t worry. I will help you.
VB: Shall we book our flight today?
