Blood plasma is the liquid part of the blood.

Because of this blood can flow through your body.

The other parts of the blood are transported by the blood plasma

Red blood cell

• No nucleus
• UFO-shape
• Transport O₂
• Haemoglobin

Haemoglobin is a substance.

Red blood cells are filled with it.

It enables them to transport oxygen

It also makes the blood red

People with sickle cell disease have red blood cells that are shaped like sickles. (The image shows a comparison)

Platelets
