Reading strategies

Leesstrategieën:

Hoe pak je een tekst aan?

leesstrategie

skimming = globaal lezen, om een idee te krijgen waar het over gaat 

scanning = snel zoeken naar bepaalde informatie

intensive reading = zo goed lezen dat je alles begrijpt

Leesstrategieen

Voor het lezen

• bekijk de titel/tussenkop/plaatjes/inleiding
  
• wat weet je al van het onderwerp?
• raad wat je denkt te lezen in de tekst

Tijdens het lezen

• wat is het doel van de tekst?
  
• probeer de hoofdgedachte uit elke tekst/alinea te halen
• raad onbekende woorden als jij denkt dat deze belangrijk zijn
• probeer meningen en feiten uit elkaar te halen

leesstrategie

Meestal moet je leesstrategieën combineren. 

Skimmen moet je eigenlijk altijd doen. 

Of je moet scannen of intensief lezen, hangt af van de informatie waar je naar op zoek bent.

Elke tekst bestaat uit:

- inleiding / opening / introductie

- verhaal

- conclusie / afsluiting

Sequence and chronology:

weergave van gebeurtenissen in chronologische volgorge of lijst van stappen om iets te doen of te maken 

(first, second, third ..., next, after that, finally, meanwhile)

Hi Samia, 

Quick email to say that sounds like a great idea. Saturday is better for me because I’m meeting my parents on Sunday. So if that’s still good for you, why don’t you come here? Then you can see the new flat and all the work we’ve done on the kitchen since we moved in. We can eat at home and then go for a walk in the afternoon. It’s going to be so good to catch up finally. I want to hear all about your new job! 

Our address is 52 Charles Road, but it’s a bit difficult to find because the house numbers are really strange here. If you turn left at the post office and keep going past the big white house on Charles Road, there’s a small side street behind it with the houses 50–56 in. Don’t ask me why the side street doesn’t have a different name! But call me if you get lost and I’ll come and get you.
