Tips
Use these phrases to make recommendations:
  • ... is worth doing / seeing / going to.
  • ... is a must-see (attraction).
  • I'd recommend ...
  • You can ... /you should really .....
  • You can add something at the end using P.S.

An informal email can be like a conversation, so you can start with How are you?

If you’re replying, you can start with Lovely to hear from you.

Your turn - write a reply to this letter
Dear ....[insert your own name here],

How are you? We're finally coming to Coevorden for a visit this spring break. Isn't that great news?

We have already booked this wonderful AirBnB near the city centre from 2 May onwards, but of course we would love to get some tips from you on things to do and see! Can you give us some pointers? You know we love to stay away from the Maddening Crowds and go where the locals go, so please share your knowledge with us.

Of course, we would love to meet up somewhere during the week. Is there any chance of us going somewhere for a drink or a bite to eat?  I hope you're around so we can meet up.

Love to hear from you!

Lots of love,
