What are we going to do today?

Lesson goal: At the end of the class you will be able to tell the difference between the four future tenses. 

Future tense

De future gebruik je om aan te geven dat iets in de toekomst wel/niet gaat gebeuren. 

Je kunt deze op 4 manieren gebruiken: 

- Present Simple

- Present Continuous 

- to be going to 

- Will/shall 

Present Simple

Dit is de normale tegenwoordige tijd. ( s achter he/she/it)

Je gebruikt deze voor vaststaande schema's, roosters en tijdsplanningen of bij feiten, gewoontes en regelmatige gebeurtenissen. 

- The bus leaves at 9 o'clock. (vast staand tijdsschema) 

- Water boils at 100 degrees. (feit)

Present Continuous

Dit is de duurvorm. Deze gebruik je voor plannen in de nabije toekomst die vaststaan waarvan tijd/plaats al bekend is. Of dingen die NU aan de gang zijn. 

Je maakt hem door: to be + hele ww + ing 

- I am flying to Sydney tomorrow. 

- She is meeting Susan at the train station in an hour. 

Will & to be going to 

To be going to: gebruik je wanneer iemand iets in de toekomst wel/niet van plan is of een voorspelling MET bewijs.

It is going to rain, just look at the clouds.

Shall/Will: gebruik je om iets aan te bieden, bij beloftes, aankondigen, besluiten of voorspellingen ZONDER bewijs.

I will come to your party tomorrow, i promise. 

They often ....... to New Zealand.
(Key word: often)

(tip: geen bewijs)
