Rule: basisvorm ww (+s for he/she/it)
Use: schedules, habits
Negative: ow + don't/doesn't + ww
Question: Do/Does + ow + ww

Rule: am/is/are + ww+ing
Use: for something that is happening right now
Negative: ow + am not/isn't/aren't + ww+ing

Use: action that went on for a longer time in the past.

komen vaak samen in één zin voor, als je wil beschrijven dat één handeling bezig was toen er opeens nog iets anders gebeurde.

  • De handeling die bezig was (een tijdje duurde) is de past continuous.
  • De handeling die plotseling erbij komt (kortere handeling) is de past simple.
