Passive
The emphasis is on what happens to a subject. Who or what causes the action is often unknown or unimportant.
A lot of money was stolen in the robbery.
(Somebody stole it, we don't know who)
Is this room cleaned everyday?
(does someone clean it? Not important who)

If you want to say who does or what caused the action, you use "by ...."
This house was built by my grandfather.
Two hundred people are employed by the company.

How to form the passive
be (is/was etc.) + past participle (done, cleaned, seen etc.)
Present simple -> am / are / is + past participle
Past simple -> was / were + past participle

Passive sentences in 5 steps
Identify the subject, verb and object
Identify the tense by looking at the verb
Use object as new subject (singular/ plural)
Add form of 'to be' and change verb into past participle
Add rest of the sentence and "by ..." if needed

Check if there is a form of 'to be' used (am, are, is, was, were,
been)
Is it followed by a past participle?
Is it followed by 'by + noun or pronoun?
If not, can it be followed by '
by zombies
'?

sentence!
