Natural immunity

Slide 16 - Diapositive

Natural immunity in 7 steps
1. A pathogen enters your body.
2. You get sick.
3. Your body makes antibodies.
4. You get better.
5. The white blood cells "remember" how these antibodies were made.
6. The next time the pathogen enters, antibodies are made immediately in large amounts.
7. You are immune.

Vaccine

-dead or weakened pathogens
-a part of a pathogen
- Due to vaccination you become immune

Slide 19 - Diapositive

Artificial immunity
1.  Otherwise known as vaccination.
2. You receive a dead or weakened pathogen via an injection. This is known as a vaccine.
3. Specific white blood cells make antibodies.
4. You get a little bit sick.
5. When the pathogen enters again, your bodies make antibodies immediately and in large amounts.
6. You are immune and will not get sick.
