  Auxiliary verb

      Other verbs

Questions and Negations: regel 1

Bij zinnen met to be (zijn) of auxiliary  verbs (hulpwerkwoorden) gelden dezelfde regels voor het maken van questions en negations. 

Voorbeelden van auxiliary verbs:  can, may, have, will, should

Questions and Negations: Regel 1

1. They are at the beach. --> Are they at the beach?

2. I should ask her out.  --> Should I ask her out?

Hoe maak je van deze zinnen een vraagzin?

Bij zinnen met to be of auxiliary verbs zet je deze werkwoorden aan het begin van de zin om een vraagzin te maken. 

Questions and Negations: Regel 1

1. They are at the beach. --> They aren't at the beach.

2. I should ask her out. --> I should not ask her out.

Hoe maak je van deze zinnen een ontkennende zin?

Bij zinnen met to be of auxiliary verbs zet je not of n't achter deze werkwoorden om een ontkennende zin te maken. 

ATTENTION!

Present Continuous: I am sitting at the table. 

Present Perfect: I have just finished reading a book.

Past Continuous: We were telling a story. 

Future: will/shall: I will help you with that. 

Future: to be going to: Sarah is going to fly to Barcelona.

ATTENTION!

Present Continuous: I am not sitting at the table. 

Present Perfect:  Have I just finished reading a book?

Past Continuous: We weren't telling a story. 

Future: will/shall: Will I help you with that?

Future: to be going to: Sarah is not going to fly to Barcelona.

Al deze tijdsvormen hebben een hulpwerkwoord. hierbij pas je regel 1 dus altijd toe.

We asked the teacher for help. --> Did we ask the teacher for help?

Bij zinnen zonder vorm van to be of auxiliary verb zet je een vorm van to do (do, does, did) vooraan de zin.

Bij zinnen zonder vorm van to be of auxiliary verb zet je een vorm van to do (do, does, did) vooraan de zin. 

LET OP!

Bij een vraagzin staat het werkwoord altijd in het infinitief!

Lara dances when she is happy. --> Lara doesn't dance when she is happy. 

We asked the teacher for help. --> We did not ask the teacher for help.

Hoe maak je van deze zinnen een ontkennende zin?

Bij zinnen zonder vorm van to be of auxiliary verb zet je een vorm van to do (do, does, did) + not/ n't vóór het werkwoord. 

LET OP!

Bij een ontkennende zin staat het werkwoord  ook altijd in het infinitief!
