The rule

Adverbs of frequency = bijwoorden van tijd (always, never, sometimes, usually, rarely) staan VOOR het (hoofd)werkwoord.

They rarely leave their house without a snack.

BEHALVE bij vormen van to be, dan staan ze er achter.

They are rarely seen without a snack.

She is never seen without a snack.

Who - does - what - where - when

subject  - verbs - object - place - time

Jaimy bought a new book in Amsterdam yesterday.

Olivia is walking her dog in the park at this moment.

adverbs of manner, place and time

• Manner (how you do it), then place, then time
• When the information is really important, you can put it in front of the sentence
• If there are two adverbs of time, the more precise one comes first
