Beschrijven zelfstandige naamwoorden en staan ook meestal voor het zelfstandig naamwoord.

Een Engelse bevestigende zin heeft een vaste woordvolgorde:
wie - doet - wat - waar - wanneer

He watched a film on television last weekend.

Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord geeft meer info over het zelfstandig nw.

Waar zet je 'funny' in deze zin?
He watched a film on television last weekend.

Adjectives

Meestal staat een bijvoeglijk naamwoord voor het zelfstandig naamwoord dat het omschrijft.

Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord kun je ook achter bepaalde werkwoorden zetten. De volgende dia geeft aan bij welke werkwoorden je dit mag doen.

- to seem (seems/seemed)
She seems interested in politics.
