Conjunctions zijn voegwoorden. Deze woorden dienen om zinsdelen aan elkaar te verbinden.

Conjunctions hebben verschillende functies, en kunnen hierbij de volgende zaken weergeven:

• opsomming: and
• reden/oorzaak: as, because (of), since, so that
• tegenstelling: (al)though, but, despite, however, yet
• tijd: until, before, after, when, while

• Our lead guitar player fell ill, so we needed to find a replacement.
• The student forgot his pen, so he had to ask for a new one.
