Conjunctions - Voegwoorden

Als je delen van zinnen met elkaar wil verbinden dan gebruik je voegwoorden.

Ze drukken ook een bepaalde relatie tussen die delen van zinnen uit, bijvoorbeeld een gevolg of een tegenstelling.

because: I'm late because I missed the bus.

because of: Jamie is sad because of the fight with his parents.

as: As it was raining, my trousers were wet when I arrived.

since: I am staying home, since it is raining.

so that: I went to my room so that I could do my homework.

when: The exercises are easy when you are paying attention

if: If you don't pay attention you will not understand the grammar.

Er zijn twee manieren om 'als' te vertalen: if en when.
