'Will/shall' en 'to be going to'

In deze les...

- toekomstige tijd maken met will/shall + heel werkwoord

- toekomstige tijd maken met to be going to + heel werkwoord

Je gebruikt 'will' voor ieder onderwerp, er zijn geen vervoegingen. Je kunt 'will' wel afkorten: 'll

Bijvoorbeeld:    They will go home tomorrow.

                                She'll fly to Spain next summer.

Will ontkenend maken

Normaal gesproken kun je n't achter een hulpwerkwoord plakken. Bij will kan dan niet.

Als je will ontkennend maakt krijg je

won't

Een andere manier om toekomstige tijd/future te maken is:

to be going to  + heel werkwoord 

Peter is going to have a party tomorrow.

Voor deze manier heb je dus 3 dingen nodig i.p.v. 2 zoals bij 'will'

Welke vorm van to be je nodig hebt hangt af van het onderwerp.

Will / shall + ww: voorspellingen, beloftes, feiten in de toekomst of als je iets aanbiedt.

Bijvoorbeeld:       The sun will shine brightly the rest of the week.

                                    I won't tell anybody what you did!

                                    My dad will be 50 next year.

                                    Shall we give you a hand with those boxes?

to be going to + ww: plannen in de toekomst

Bijvoorbeeld:       The twins are going to celebrate their birthday                                      next week.

                                    Are we going to swim tomorrow?

                                    You aren't going to eat that, are you?

Signaalwoorden

Dat je een future moet gebruiken kun je zien aan woorden als:

tomorrow

next (week/year/etc.)

tonight

in (two days/etc.)

when (=als)

En alle andere woorden die verwijzen naar de toekomst!
