phílos = love, affection        &      lógos = word

Philología: "love of learning, discussion, and literature.

Philologist: someone who studies the history of languages, especially by looking closely at literature.

Ever heard of the name J.R.R. Tolkien? If yes, type what you know about him/his works/genre, etc.

1.. Read question 1 (Assign. 75). Do you know other famous 'philologists'?

2. Can one language be more 'complete' than another? For example, do you think English is more 'complete' than Dutch? Explain.
