Past Simple:
  • Je gebruikt de past simple wanneer iets in het verleden is gebeurt en nu is afgelopen. 
  • Als er een tijdsbepaling in de zin staat.
Past continuous:
  • Wanneer iets in het verleden is gebeurt en een tijdje heeft geduurd.

Together: Grandmother called while I was cleaning my room.
