Adverbs of place 

Bijwoorden die iets zeggen over waar of waarheen staan altijd aan het einde van de zin: 

My bike is in the shed.

Helen  arrived  at her appartment.

Adverbs of time 

Bijwoorden die aangeven wanneer iets gebeurt, staan meestal aan het eind van een zin. Als je de tijd extra wil benadrukken, kun je ze ook vooraan in een zin zetten. 

They left two days ago.

At ten o'clock  last Sunday, Helen  arrived  at her appartment.

Plaats en een tijd? Plaats staat VOOR tijd.

1. Ná een vorm van to be (am - are - is - was - were)

• She is never home

2. Vóór een ander werkwoord

• She always walks to school.

3. Als er meerdere werkwoorden in de zin staan, komt het bijwoord van tijd ná het eerste werkwoord.
