Past simple recap

The difference between:

Present simple	Past simple
I work at McDonalds every day.	I worked at McDonalds yesterday.
I don't work at McDonalds every day.	I didn't work at McDonalds yesterday.
Do you work at McDonalds?	Did you work at McDonalds?

Past simple irregular verbs

Irregular verbs to learn for the test:

Using the past simple

Look at the picture and write the correct past sentence.
Example:

Past expressions

When we talk about the past we often use expressions like these:

• Yesterday, yesterday afternoon, yesterday evening
• Last night, last week, last month, last December
• An hour ago, two weeks ago, two months ago
  

Past expressions

Let's transform the sentences.

Change the sentence into a time expression with ago.

Example:
Andy is twenty. He left school when he was sixteen.
Andy left school 4 years ago.

It's 8 o'clock. I had breakfast at 7 o'clock.

I had breakfast ...

It's December. Your holiday was in July.

My holiday ...

It's 10.20. The film began at 10.00.
