Genitive - hoe geef je bezit aan?

Bij personen en namen: 's / s '

    bij personen enkelvoud:                               John's brother / My sister's book
    bij personen meervoud:                               Both my brothers' cars / Two girls' books

    bij personen meervoud zonder -s:          The children's toys

   Let op: eindigt een woord in het meervoud al op een s                                the boys' bikes

 dan hoef je daar alleen nog maar een ' achter te zetten

Wanneer je aan wilt geven dat iets ergens bij hoort, gebruik je …of… voor dingen, plaatsen en landen:

    The tail of the dog
