The Future

Er zijn in het Engels 4 manieren om de toekomende tijd te maken:

 

1. The Present Simple
2. Will/ Shall
   
3. To be going to
   
4. The Present Continuous

The Future - Present Continuous

Je gebruikt de present continuous (am/ are/ is + werkwoord + ing) als je zeker weet dat iets in de toekomst gaat gebeuren.

VB: We are seeing that movie tomorrow.

 

The Future - to be + going to + hele WW

Je gebruikt to be + going to + hele werkwoord als je iets van van plan bent maar er nog geen concreet plan is.

VB: He is going to write a book this summer.

As soon as the lock down is lifted, I am going to visit the movies.

The Future - Will/ Shall

Will/ Shall gebruik je al iets in de toekomst gebeurt maar er nog geen concreet plan is, of als je een voorstel doet.

VB: I will compose a song in the future.

Shall gebruik je in vraagzinnen met I en we.

VB: Shall we go to the store?

The Future - Present Simple

GEBRUIK JE ALLEEN ALS IETS VOLGENS EEN SCHEMA GEBEURD, THAT'S IT!

Voorbeeld:
The bus leaves at 9 AM.

The guided tours start in front of the shop at noon.
