Wat is een passieve zin?

Een zin waarin het onderwerp iets ondergaat, dus zelf NIKS doet, bijvoorbeeld:

De tas werd gekocht

Hoe ziet de passive eruit?

• Een vorm van TO BE (en die betekent hier: WORDEN)
• gevolgd door een voltooid deelwoord (werkwoord + ed, of het 3e rijtje van de onregelmatige werkwoorden)

Hoe maak je een zin passief?

• KIJK GOED NAAR DE ACTIEVE ZIN (bv. I open the door)
  
• WAT IS HET LIJDEND VOORWERP OF MEEWERKEND VOORWERP? 
  
• DIT WORDT HET ONDERWERP VAN DE LIJDENDE ZIN

STAP 1: Wat is het lijdend voorwerp in deze zin:

THE BUTTON wordt dan het onderwerp in de passieve zin

Stap 2: Bepaal de tijd waar de zin in staat

In welke tijd staat de zin: I press the button

De actieve en de passieve zin moeten in dezelfde tijd staan, in dit geval de present simple

1. Bepaal het lijdend voorwerp of meewerkend voorwerp van de actieve zin

2. Bepaal de tijd van de actieve zin. De vorm van TO BE moet in deze tijd staan

3. Volg de vorm van to be door het voltooid deelwoord van de persoonsvorm van de ACTIEVE zin (ww + ed of 3e rijtje)

Present simple: am/is/are + voltooid deelwoord

Active - I open the door

Passive: the door is opened by me

Active: I don't open the door

Passive: the door isn't opened by me

Past simple: was/were + voltooid deelwoord

Active: I opened the door

Passive: the door was opened by me

Active: I didn't open the door

Passive: the door wasn't opened by me
