when do we use "will"?

-Spontaneous (something you decide at that moment)

- Predictions  (without proof/ hints/clues)

when do we use "going to"?

-Planned (fixed, going to happen)

- Prediction (based on hints / proof / clues)

Example 

It will rain

She will fail her test 

I will get some water 

Example 

I am going to London

 She is going to fail her test, because she didn't study

He is going to travel to Spain
