Like thousands of other communities across Britain, Tripton was transformed into what the experts call a 'fresh food desert' when the big supermarktets moved to out-of-town greenfield sites. Large numbers of unemployed, eldery, lone parents, disabled and long-term sick people live in the old town centres. They have no way of getting to the out-of-town shopping centres.

Thanks to the promise of funding over five years- an annual 38,000 pounds- from the local health authority , more than 500 low-income families are now benefiting from Graham's weekly visit, saving pounds in higher food costs while improving their diets.
