Political Agenda 

When a societal issue gets attention from politicians, you can speak about a political issue. The issue will get to be on the politcal agenda

• Demonstratie: een groep mensen die bij elkaar komt om ergens tegen te protesteren of om aandacht te vragen voor een probleem.
• Petitie: een oproep aan volksvertegenwoordigers om een bepaalde politieke beslissing te nemen of een probleem op te lossen
• Burgerinitiatief: Initiatief van burgers om een bepaald onderwerp op de agenda van de Tweede Kamer te krijgen. Als ten minste 40.000 mensen het initiatief ondertekenen, moet het onderwerp in de Tweede Kamer worden besproken.

an organisation of people who think alike about how problems in socitey can be solved and how the coutnry should be run

• based on a political school of thought (liberalism, social-democratic or christian-democratic)

• Conservative or progressive 

Liberalism

 Emphasis on principle of freedom 

Highest form if freedom is individual freedom 

Role of governement is primarliy to give individuals the space to develop themselves  

Often right on the spetcrum 

Socialism/ Social democratic

Regulated form of capitalism

Extensive social security program 

Egalitarian society that takes care of lower and middle class 

Usually left on spectrum 

Christian-democratic

Based on Christian thinking of social and economic relations 

Community spirity, stewardship and care for others are core values 

Usualy centre position on spectrum
