Grammar: Some and Any

De woorden some en any hebben allebei dezelfde betekenis (een aantal "a number) of een beetje van "a few of"). Maar je gebruikt ze beide op een andere manier in een zin.

Grammar: Some

• Je gebruikt some in positive sentences (bevestigende zinnen).

• Soms kan je some ook gebruiken in vraagzinnen, maar alleen wanneer je verwacht dat het antwoord ja is.

For example:
- I have some biscuits

- Can I have some water, please?

- There is some fruit in the bowl

- Do you have some advice for me?

Grammar: Any

• Je gebruikt any in negative/negation sentences (negatieve zinnen).

For example:

- She doesn't have any crisps

• Je gebruikt any ook in de meeste question sentences (vraagzinnen)

For example:

- Do you have any bananas?

Some and Any: in short

Some en any betekend allebei "een aantal" of "een beetje van"

Some = positive sentences + (bevestigende zinnen)

Some = questions sentences (? = ja) (vraagzinnen) waar je ja op antwoord

Any = negative/negation sentences - (negatieve zinnen)

Any = de meeste vraagzinnen ? (question sentences)
