Acoording to legends two twinbrother (Romulus and Remus) were raised by a female wolf. She cared for them, and protected them as if they were her own.

The two brothers got into a fight about founding a new city -> Romules killed Remus.

Romules founded a new city on a hill called Palatine hill.
