Adjective = Bijvoeglijk naamwoord

Gives more information about a noun (= zelfstandig naamw.)

She is happy.

That dog is cute.

He is wearing a nice outfit.

Meestal staat een bijvoeglijk naamwoord voor het zelfstandig naamwoord dat het omschrijft.

Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord kun je ook achter bepaalde werkwoorden zetten. De volgende dia geeft aan bij welke werkwoorden je dit mag doen.

- to be 
- to look
- to appear
- to seem

The knife is sharp.
- to look (looks/looked)
They look silly in those hats.

She appeared friendly after I met her.

- to seem (seems/seemed)
She seems interested in politics.
