PASSIVE (part 2)

Goal

You can change 3 active sentences 

into a passive voice sentence in the past and present tense.

When to use a passive?

1. To speak about actions in the present tense.
2. To say what a subject does.
3. To say what happens to the subject.
4. To speak about ongoing actions in the past.

Hoe vervoeg je een passive?

1. be + voltooid deelw.
2. to be + -ing
3. have + voltooid deelw.
4. have + -ing

Wat gebeurt er met het lijdend voorwerp van een actieve zin als je hem passief maakt?

1. het verdwijnt
2. het wordt een onderwerp
3. het blijft een lijdend voorwerp
4. het komt tussen de werkwoord te staan

Bij het gebruik van een passive is wie iets doet of wat de aanleiding is meestal onbelangrijk.

He stole a lot of money from the bank.

Our school employs over a hundred people.

They cancelled all flights because of fog.
