How to write an introduction.
  • 1st sentence should be an attention getter (hook) that broadly relates to an aspect of the essay topic.
  • 2nd and 3rd sentences are not as broad as the first and should provide more information about the topic.
  • The last sentence of the introduction is the thesis statement.
