Gebruik: Gebeurd in het verleden en het is belangrijk en / of bekend wanneer. 

Signaalwoorden: yesterday, last year, five minutes ago, in 2007, this morning, when I was young.

+: hele ww + ed   / 2e rijtje (pagina 207)   

She danced to the music. / We went to the cinema last night.   

-: didn't + hele ww   

She didn't dance to the music.   / We didn't go to the cinema last night. 

?: Did + onderwerp + hele ww

Did she dance to the music? / Did we go to the cinema last night? 

Spellingsuitzonderingen

1. ww eindigt met -e = alleen -d toevoegen.

2. ww eindigend met medeklinker + y = -ied toevoegen

cry - cried

3. ww eindigend in een korte klinker = medeklinker verdubbelen

plan - planned

4. ww met meerdere lettergrepen die eindigend in -l = +lled

travel - travelled
