Possessive adjective

Als het zelfstandig naamwoord (noun) (waarvan je wil zeggen dat het van jou of een ander is) direct achter het bezittelijk voornaamwoord staat gebruik je:

Enkelvoud

Mijn - my - This is my car

Jouw/uw - your - This is your hat

Zijn - his - This is his pillow

Haar - her - that is her cat

Zijn (ding of dier) - its - that is its ball

Meervoud

Ons - our - That is our plane

Jullie/uw - your - That is your house

Hun - their -  That is their shop

Possessive pronouns

Een possessive pronoun gebruik je ook om te voorkomen dat je in herhaling valt.

 Het vervangt een possessive adjective (bezittelijk bijvoeglijk naamwoord) + noun (zelfstandig naamwoord) om eerder genoemde informatie niet opnieuw te benoemen.

"This book is my book, not your book."

"This book is mine, not yours."

Mijn -  my - mine - The car is mine

Zijn - his - his - The pillow is his

Haar - her - hers - The cat is hers
