Welke zelfstandige naamwoorden ken je die die +s/+es regel niet volgen voor meervoud vorm?

The common ones

Man --> Men

Woman --> Women

Child --> Children

Tooth --> Teeth

Person --> people

Penny --> Pence

Foot --> Feet

Welke dieren kun je noemen die in het Engels dezelfde vorm in het meervoud en in het enkelvoud hebben of een onregelmatig vorm?

Voor sommige van deze woorden moet je nagaan of je een werkwoord voor enkelvoud of meervoud moet gebruiken. Dat hangt af van de context van de zin.

Fish - Sheep - Deer

Mouse --> Mice

Goose --> Geese

Ox --> Oxen

Louse --> lice

A fish .....................(to swim) in the sea.

Fresh water fish  ................(to live) in ponds and lakes.

Subject / verb agreement

The subject matches the form of the verb used.

The horse eats the grass - singular

The horses eat the grass - plural

Not:  The cats is sitting by the woodburner.

The boy eat an ice cream

Group nouns
