When do we use the Present Simple:

• To express a habit- I get up at 6.30 am
• to express a fact which is always true - Vegetarians don't eat meat
• To express  a fact which is true for a long time - I live in Zwaag -

When do we use the Present Continuous?

• An activity happening now: They are playing football in the garden
• An activity happening around now, but maybe not at the time of speaking: I'm reading a good book at the moment.
• A planned future arrangement:  I am going to watch a film tonight.
