Past Simple:
wordt gebruikt voor
afgeronde acties
in het verleden
vb:
"I had dinner with my family at 7 PM."
Het benadrukt de gebeurtenis zelf en het tijdstip waarop het gebeurde.

Wat is het verschil tussen
Past Simple en Past Continuous?
Past Continuous:
gebruik je als je
de duur of achtergrond van een actie in
het verleden wilt benadrukken.
vb:
I was watching Netflix at 7 PM."
Dit geeft aan dat de actie toen bezig was en niet per se afgerond is op dat moment.)
Het kan ook worden gebruikt om twee acties die tegelijkertijd plaatsvonden te beschrijven, zoals in:
vb:
"I was doing my homework when my mom called me for dinner."
