Wanneer gebruiken we de present perfect?

1. nu-toekomst

Have/has + voltooid deelwoord

Voltooid deelwoord?

Optie A: Regelmatige werkwoorden --> ww + -ed

Optie B: Onregelmatige werkwoorden --> 3e rijtje 

Gebruik

1) om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden is begonnen en nu nog aan de gang. 

ex: Lee has lived in New York since the summer of 2006. 

2) te praten over ervaringen (in iemands leven) tot nu toe.

ex: I've never been on  a sailboat in my life. 

3) om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden is gebeurd en dat je daar nu het resultaat van merkt.

ex: Karim feels neaseous. He's eaten too many fries. 

Signaalwoorden  -FYNE JAS!

F = for - ( nu) al 

Y = yet - al (vraagzinnen)

N = never (nog) nooit

E = ever - ooit

J = just - net 

A = already - al: always - altijd

S = since sinds; so far - tot dus ver 

Hoe vorm je de present perfect?

1. ww + - ed
2. het derde rijtje van de irregular verbs
3. ww + s bij he/she/it
4. has / have + voltooid deelwoord

Welke zin staat in de Present Perfect?

1. My cat finally caught the mouse.
2. His cat hasn't caught a mouse since last year.
3. My dog never catches anything.
4. Did you get caught?

Present Perfect Continuous 

Vorm

have/has been + ww + -ing 

Example:

Our cat has been getting into all kinds of trouble.

We have been working on this melody for hours. 

Gebruik

1) alléén voor dingen die een poosje hebben geduurd, meerdere keren zijn voorgekomen of een gewoonte zijn. 

2) als je iets (te) lang vindt duren. 

ex: I've been waiting for ages now!

3) als je aan wilt geven dat iets in het heden het gevolg is van iets wat in het verleden een tijd heeft geduurd. 

We've been playing tennis so we're a bit thirsty. 

Signaalwoorden 

1) te lang duren

lately, for hours, all day, for ages, for a long time, etc. 

2) gevolg van iets 

because, so.

I'm really tired. I .................. too hard these past few weeks.

Now,  we are going to take a look at the difference between the present perfect simple and the present perfect continuous.

Present perfect simple	Present perfect continuous:
a) Iets is in het verleden gebeurd, je weet niet wanneer of hoe vaak, alleen dat het ooit gebeurd is. Het resultaat is nog merkbaar.
b) ALLEEN MET FOR / SINCE: Iets is in het verleden begonnen en loopt door tot nu: het is nog bezig, of pas heel kort geleden afgelopen.	ALTIJD: Iets is in het verleden begonnen en loopt door tot nu: het is nog bezig, of pas heel kort geleden afgelopen.

Dus:   

Als je wilt aangeven dat iets in het verleden begonnen is en nog steeds bezig is, gebruik je de present perfect continuous. For / since hoeven er niet per se bij maar het mag wel.

Dit kan alleen NIET bij de zogenaamde State Verbs: dingen die je niet aan het doen kan zijn. 

Understand, believe, hate etc. 

Dus:   

Als je wilt aangeven dat iets in het verleden begonnen is en nog steeds waar  is maar FINISHED,  gebruik je de present perfect simple . For /Since kan bij allebei

I haven't believed in Santa since I was seven. 
I haven't been paying attention at all.
