When to use them 

What does 'any' mean?

What does 'some' mean?

Wanneer gebruik je some en wanneer any?

Het gebruik hangt af van de zin. 

SOME: you use some in affirmative/positive/normal sentences  (= in bevestigende zinnen +) 

Examples: - I have got some homework. 

- He gives some advice.

Wanneer gebruik je some en wanneer any?

ANY: 

1. you use any in negative sentences (-)

Examples:  - He hasn’t got any sisters or brothers.

- We haven't got any equipment.

2. You use any in questions (?) 

Example: Are you going anywhere today?

Some	+
Any	_ ?

SOME :

1. in positive (normal) sentences -> I need to buy some bread

1. in negative sentences -> We haven't got any crisps   

2. in questions->  Do they sell any books?
