Any

We use any in negative statement (ontkenning)

Some

We use some in affirmative sentences (bevestigende zinnen)

• How do we make affirmative sentences?
• These are sentences that are not negative, nor a question.
• Example: I'd like some apples     

Exception

We use some instead of any in a question  where you aspect the answer  to be yes.

• Example: Could I have some bread, please ?
