• First hour: Speaking exercise about your holiday.

• I can describe something or someone in single words and short sentences.

Assignment

• Form groups of three/four.
• You are going to present three/four holiday stories to your class. The group guesses which one is true.
• Each of you thinks of a holiday story. 
• Change two of the three/four stories into fake stories. Use your imagination.
• Present the stories to your class. Each story is about one minute!
• Let the class decide which one is true/false. 
• 15 minutes to come up with the stories, then present! 
• You can use your book (chapter 1) for inspiration! Questions? Ask me!

Today

• The rest: Listening exercise: Modern family.
  
• While watching: Do the first exercise.
• After watching: Do ex. B, C, D and hand in at the end of class.
• Can be used for your media file so try to fill it in as completely as possible!

• The rest of us is working on their mediafile: Reading a text about Brighton (England) and do exercises in pairs. You may also choose to finish your other assignments: Front page/Modern family first.
  
• At the end of class I have a new assignment to add to my mediafile.

• In pairs, work through the worksheet. 
• Assignments 1-7.
• Can be used for mediafile, so be as complete as possible! 
  
• If not finished: Next week I'll give you time to finish.
• Fully finished assignment = 50 points!

• Watch Newsround and do the exercise.
• Afterwards: Go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround and find your own video.
  Describe it for your mediafile and put into your folder (snelhechter) -> Summarize, give your opinion etc.

Travel Guide

PowerPoint or 2 pages of information on a city of choice in pairs. In English.

- Korte informatie over de stad waar je heen gaat. (geschiedenis/topo)

- Waar kun je eten, slapen, activiteiten doen. Bedenk minimaal 3 activiteiten en werk ze uit! Vertel mensen wat ze kunnen doen in jouw stad en waarom ze dit zouden moeten doen.

- Hoe zou je er vanaf Nederland heen kunnen reizen?

- Wees creatief met plaatjes en eventueel leuke weetjes! Maak degene die jouw travel guide leest enthousiast over de betreffende stad.

• Reading assignment: Dogs.
• Can be used for mediafile. 
  
  
• At the end of class I practised my reading skills and improved my vocabulary.

Dogs

• We are going to read the text together.
• Do all the assignments. Can be done in pairs but is handed in individually.
• Write a short summary of the text (50-100 words) and give your opinion. Mark the difficult words and write down their meaning.
• Hand in at the end of class to earn points for your mediafile!

Words you need to know

Noun = zelfstandig naamwoord.

Verb = werkwoord.

Expressions = uitdrukkingen.

Opinion = mening.

Today

• The rest: Make your movie/series report. (HW).
  - 5-10 moeilijke woorden.
  - 75 woorden: Jouw mening over de film/serie en waarom je hem aan zou raden.
  - 1 opdracht uit head, heart, hands.
• Mediafile -> 50 points if you hand it in today.
  
• Na 20 minuten -> Quiz United Kingdom or songtekst assignment.

Reading test

• Naam, klas en antwoorden op je antwoordblad!
• Tekst en opgaven staan bij elkaar.
• Klaar? Toets op hoek van tafel, ik haal hem op.
• Lezen, ander vak of werken aan mediafile.
• Telefoons zijn ingeleverd.

• Songtext assignment. (25 points)
• Finish movie report. (50 points) Deadline for mediafile = before the Christmas break.
• Christmas in the English Speaking World report (25 points)
• Make your own vocabulary/grammar/speaking game to use in class. (30 seconds, memory, etc.). (25 points)

Songtekst opdracht

- Lees & bestudeer een Engelse songtekst. 

- Beschrijf waar het over gaat en geef je mening. 

- Minimaal 150 woorden. 

- Noteer 10 nieuwe/moeilijke woorden en vertaal ze. 

- Noteer titel én artiest en laat hem eerst goedkeuren door mij. Maak er een mooi geheel van. 25 punten :)

Christmas report

• 1 - 2 A4 in het Engels: Hoe wordt kerst gevierd in bijvoorbeeld Amerika, Engeland of Australië? Wat zijn de verschillen met NL? Denk aan eten, drinken, tradities, cadeaus, versiering en kleding. 
• PowerPoint mag ook, zorg dat de informatie helder overkomt.

End of class

• Hoe ver ben je met je mediafile? Wat moet er nog gebeuren? Je mag ook een boek lezen en hier opdrachten bij maken.
• Toets H2 = verplaatst naar vrijdag volgende week. Nog 1 les dus om te oefenen en vragen stellen.
