Slide 5 - Diapositive

Present Simple Form
You make the present simple with the standard form of the verb
(Verb=Werkwoord).
I drink tea every morning.

The he/she/it forms have an "s" at the end
She drinks tea every morning.
This is called the SHIT rule :)

Slide 6 - Diapositive

Negative form
In negative sentences you use the auxilliary verb "to do" and the negative word "not". You can write this in two ways:

I do not drink tea every morning.
I don't drink tea every morning.

Slide 7 - Diapositive

Question form
When you make a question, you always begin with a question word. For present simple you need the auxiliary verb "to do".

Do I drink tea every morning?

Slide 8 - Diapositive

Negative and Questions: the shit rule

When you have an auxiliary verb, the SHIT rule applies to it, and not the main verb.

He doesn't drink tea every morning.
