Conjunctions
What do you already know?

Conjunctions -> Voegwoorden

Used to glue two sentences together to make them one, but also to give a bit of extra information, a cause, summary or  enumaration about the subject. 

How does it work?

Opsomming: (and)
- I love chocolate and sweet rolls. 

Reden / Oorzaak: (because, as, for, since)

- You love chocolate because  you are a girl. 
- Queen has never been the same since Freddie Mercury died. 

Gevolg: (so, that)
- Patrick got home early so he could play Fortnite early on.

Tegenstelling: (but, though, although, however)
- Astrid likes going to bed early, but her brother doesn't.
- Michael likes to stay up long, eventhough he has to get up early in the mornings.

If - sentences
What do you already know? How do you make it? when do you use it?

If-sentences 

1: If you know something is fact you can use if to indicate that fact. 

How?  If + Present simple  + present simple

- If you jump of a bridge you die. 

- Fire hurts if you put your hand in it. 

If-sentences 

2: You can use if in situations that can easily become true. 

How? If + present simple     and     will + infinitive

- If you get good grades you will get your diploma. 
- You'll buy a car if you win the lottery.
