Present Simple: She lives in London. (gewoonte, feit)

Present Continuous: I am living in London. (nu bezig)

Past Continuous: I was living in London when I was 2. (in het verleden aan de gang geweest)

Past Simple: He lived in London when I was 10 years old. (in het verleden gebeurd, maar nu niet meer gaande)

Present Perfect: You have lived in London for one year now. (begonnen in verleden; gaat nog door)

1. als je wilt zeggen dat iets is gebeurd en het is niet belangrijk wanneer;
2. als je wilt zeggen dat iets in het verleden is begonnen en het nog steeds aan de gang is;
3. als iets in het verleden is gebeurd waarvan je nu het resultaat zichtbaar is;
4. als iets net of nog niet is gebeurd.
