Telling the time

• For minutes 31-59 we use TO after the minutes
• For minutes 1-30 we use PAST after the minutes
• O'clock when it's a full hour (ten o'clock - not two past ten o'clock)
• 15 minutes = a quarter (to or past) - 3:15 = a quarter past three

Am vs Pm

• Am = Ante Meridiem (meaning before the afternoon)
  
• Pm = Post Meridiem (meaning after the afternoon)

• Am - from 1 at night (00:01) until 12 in the morning (12:00) 
• Pm - From 12:01 until 23:59 at night
• AM = After Midnight

The rule is that you say PAST when the number of the minutes is between 1-30, and in this case, 11 is in between those numbers

When it is 15 minutes before the hour, we use a quarter to, and in this case, it is a quarter to twelve

Am tells us it’s before the afternoon starts, so it’s the middle of the day

Another way to say 09:53 am is...

1. It's seven to ten

The correct answer is A, it’s seven to ten. The number is between 31-59, so we have to use TO
