Objectives:
  • improve listening skills by using strategies
  • improve reading skills by using strategies 
  • learn and expand your vocabulary of lying

Improving listening
1. Timetable regular practice
2. Expand your range (from short to longer)
3. Practice in chunks (2 minutes first, understood? > move on)
4. Repeat practice (Eat, sleep, listen, repeat).

Listening skills (before listening)
1. read and listen to the instructions!
2. unerline key words in the question(s). Usually nouns and verbs.
3. Try to understand the context. What will the speakers be talking about.
4. Read and listen to the examples given at each part, this will show you HOW to answer the question.
5. Try to predict the answer.

Listening skills (while listening)
1. don't worry, understanding the main idea is often enough!
2. if you hear the recordings twice, do not worry you miss one or two questions. 
3. Try to carefully listen to the recording the first time to help you understand the context and check for answers the second time.
4. when you move on to the next question forget the previous one. 
5. CHECK BEFORE HANDING IN AND DO NOT LEAVE EMPTY SPACES ON YOUR ANSWER SHEET!
