Reading, step by step

1. Start by reading the text quickly to find out what the text is about.

2. Read the question and choose a strategy

3. If necessary, read the text entirely and concentrated, and underline or circle important information in the text.

3. Read text again and underline or circle  

 important information.

    

Peter enjoys mountain biking because...

1. it gives him the opportunity to enjoy the views
2. he can use the time to plan his work
3. he is able to stop thinking about his problems
4. it helps him to concentrate better

"But more importantly, racing along as fast as you can leaves you no time to worry about anything that's going on in your life."

What does Peter say about cycling during his childhood?

1. He is sorry he did not take more care of his bike
2. His friends always had better quality bikes than he did
3. His bike wasn't suitable for the activities he was doing
4. He was more interested in designing bikes than riding them

Er staat in de tekst dat de fiets niet geschikt was voor de dingen die ze deden:

"The bikes we had then weren't built for that."

Er staat nergens in de tekst dat hij meer interesse had in het ontwerpen van fietsen.

Peter says he returned to cycling after several years...

Hij is bang voor zijn carrière als hij valt en dit heeft dus niet per se te maken met zijn leeftijd. Dat is nergens terug te lezen.
