What are the rules for putting integers in order? 

Place the x at the number whose absolute value is 4

Use the arrows to show the following problem on the number line:   2 + (-5)

Use the arrows to show the following problem on the number line:   2 - (-3)

Put the steps in order: Add the opposite to solve the following problem-  -2-(-1)

Change subtraction to addition: -2 +(-1)

Replace the negative with its opposite:  -2 + (1)

Use a numberline to represent the problem: -2 +1

-2 + 1 = (-1)

Always start at zero and move to the 1st number in the equation

Move the number of units of the 2nd number 

 starting point -> 1 + (2)-> number of units to move

If the second number is Positive 

1. when adding move right, when subtracting move left

If the second number is Negative 

2. when adding move LEFT, when subtracting move right
