Native American Tribes
Something we're not very familiar with but something we'd like to know more about. Instead of me giving you all the information; you're going to perform some research yourself.

Slide 18 - Diapositive

Step 1 - Make a group
Two or three people.

It is NOT an option to do this alone. You need to learn how to work together.

Slide 19 - Diapositive

Step 2 - Pick a tribe
Navajo (Diné): The largest federally recognized tribe in the United States, known for their art, culture, and language.

Cherokee: One of the most well-known indigenous tribes in the U.S. with a rich history, language, and traditions.
Sioux (Lakota, Dakota, Nakota): Known for their warrior history, traditions like powwows, and the Standing Rock protests.
Hopi: A tribe with a rich spiritual tradition and art, especially their kachina dolls.
Iroquois Confederacy (Haudenosaunee): A unique federation of indigenous tribes with an impact on the formation of American democracy.
Inuit: The indigenous people of the northern Arctic region, known for their adaptation to harsh conditions and hunting skills.
Apache: A warrior culture from the southwestern U.S., famous for their determination and traditional dances.
Nez Perce: A tribe known for their horsemanship and their role in the history of the Wild West.
Blackfeet: A tribe from the northern U.S. and Canada, known for their bison hunting and rich culture.
Choctaw: A southeastern tribe known for their involvement in the Trail of Tears and their contributions to American society.

Step 3 - Divide the workload
Every person should talk at least two minutes.

Are you going to research everything together, or are you dividing the workload?

Slide 21 - Diapositive

Step 4 - Prepare your work
How are you saving and presenting your work?
How are you going to work on it if one person is sick?
How are you going to present it if one person is sick?

Slide 22 - Diapositive

Step 5 - Information
How are you going to gather information?
What are reliable sources for this?

Also note: What is the definition of a presentation again, and what does that have to do with information?

Slide 23 - Diapositive

Step 6 - Formalities
Welke afspraken kunnen we maken voor komende lessen?

Slide 24 - Diapositive

7 - Hand-out
I've gathered some questions and bits you can use for your research on a hand-out. You don't have to use them all, you can make up your own questions too.
