Present simple and present continuous

When do you use the present simple?

1. When something happens always, never, regularly
2. With words like never, often, usually, sometimes
3. With facts
4. With words like while and when

Present simple

When something happens always, never or regularly, you use the present simple.

In the sentence you can see words like regularly, usually, hardly ever, always, often etc...

Present simple

I eat

He/She/It eats

We/You/They eat

I do - He/She/It does

I go- He/She/It goes

I have-He/She/It has

I am-He/She/It is-You are

When do you use the present continuous?

3. With words like now, right now, at the moment
4. When something is happening right now

Present continuous

You use the present continuous, when something is happening right now.

In the sentence, you can find words like now, right now, at the moment etc...
